A person has the right to ask an organisation if it is using or storing their personal information. They can also ask it for copies of their personal information, either verbally or in writing. This is called the right of access and is commonly known as making a subject access request or SAR. This is different from a Freedom of Information Act request. See also Your Right of Access (ICO)
